Post 6: English Language Challenges

Hi bloggers! This is my last post, and I will talk about how this English course was for me. I have to say I already had some knowledge of the language, but practice is never a bad thing… For me, to practise my speaking is really beneficious cause I don’t talk in English with anyone nowadays and pronunciation is always a hard task when you are not a native speaker.

I think listening and understanding what your hear is also hard when you are not used to it, this is why I think that the best way to improve this skill is watching movies or series in English and with English subtitles. It really helps because you are reading what you hear. After a period of time doing this, you will realise you don’t longer need subtitles to understand what you are watching.

Due to the pandemic, I think that the evaluations of the course through these posts and the videos are very suitable because these homeworks don’t require much time, therefore, the academic charge of the course is not very heavy and we can use the time left in other courses that are more difficult, I also really liked the classes and the fact that assistance was not compulsory.

VIDEOGAMES :o

Hi bloggers! Today I am going to talk about videogames, honestly I haven’t played one in a very long time, the closer I have been to a videogame was during the quarantine when I downloaded a Ludo game in my phone. It was fun to me because you were able to play online with people of all around the world, and also with your friends.

I am the youngest of my siblings, and when we were little we played in a Super Nintendo console in summer break, I really enjoyed the games we played, specially Donkey Kong and Mario Bros, they were about adventures and achieving different goals, also we played Mario Kart that was about car races. I remember that we only had two remote controls so we always struggled on who would play first.

Nowadays, I still prefer those types of games rather than war games, I believe the world is tough enough for us to use our free time to play a game that is set in a situation so extreme and violent as a war, and I could say it may be unfair for actual victims of wars that we use those situations to have fun.

Building a Permaculture Paradise

Hi bloggers! Today I’m going to talk about a video related to Permaculture
First you need to condition the soil to allow the germination of the cover crop seeds. These plants grow fast, fix nitrogen and prepare the soil to cultivate.

The next stage is when these plants have grown a little bit, now we have to break the roots, this way the nodules that are rich in Nitrogen release this mineral to the soil and make it richer.

Afterwards you can plant whatever you want because you have an adequate soil!

After 1 or 2 years you can see an stable system and after 4 or 5 years you achieve to have a forest that maintains itself and that would be very difficult to remove. So now you have a lots of plants that gives you food and are easy to maintain. How amazing is that!

I think these technique has to be more studied because is very beneficious, I imagine you could do this in spaces where the grass is dry and where people want to learn how to take care of the soil and plants in order to benefit the spaces they would use and themselves.

Post 3: COVID

Hello bloggers!! Today, I am going to talk about how my experience with the quarantine was. I don’t know your case, but for me it was something I never thought I would go through in my life… to be lockdown in my apartment, only with my mom and my cat, was a really tough experience and also not seeing anybody for so much time… the months went by and I felt that the time was frozen. I tried my best to make the best out of the situations we were involved, I did a lot of exercise, dancing and cooking to keep my mind busy although I knew that outside there were lots of people suffering either of the virus, or because of the lack of jobs which meant lack of food for the more vulnerable families.

For me the experience of being lockdown was tough, but when I think of the people who doesn’t even have their own house and couldn’t go to work… I believe I am lucky, and also because the members of my family who got the virus could get better.

The best holidays I've ever had!

Whenever I go on holidays, my goal is to go to a place where I can be in touch with nature, be with my friends, be relaxed but still do a lot of fun things during the day and at night go party, not necessarily to a club or something like that, but hang out with the people I am and meet lots of new!

This is why the year I went to hitchhike to the south of Chile with my two best friends, is one of the holidays I remember the best. The whole trip lasted one month approximately, we started our route in Valdivia and ended in Quellón, Chiloe. Everything in this trip was incredible! Everywhere we arrived at, we met lots of unique and fun people. I even have touch with a few of them! I am very thankful for the places we got to know that included virgin beaches, red lakes, little towns, forests, rivers, everything! And to have shared this experience with my two sisters of the soul!

Post 1: A country I'd like to visit:

I have always like nature and everything related with the enviroment. Therefore whenever I go out of the city, I like to go to places where I can be surrounded by nature, either to the coast or to the mountains. This is why the country I would like to visit is Brazil, specifically the Amazonia where there are plenty of animals living their lives through the jungle.
It is very impressive that there are still places where there is little or none influence of human modern civilizations, where is known that there still aborigin people living there in direct relation with the nature. I would like to see the animals living in the jungle and also see the many beaches and islands that Brazil has. The culture there is very interesting for me, the way they dance and celebrate is wellknown around the world to be very unique aswell as the food they eat, which contains lots of fruits that I really like!
